Bridges

Dental bridges replace missing teeth. Dental bridges can restore your smile, improve your ability to chew and speak, and maintain the shape of your face. They can also prevent your remaining teeth from drifting out of position A dental bridge consists of connected crowns that fit over your natural teeth on either side. They simply fill the gap in your smile.

Our dentist will place fused crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap, called the abutment teeth.  The bridge is then cemented in place.

Dental bridges are usually made of ceramic, metals, combination of both, but can also be made with resin.

The process for getting a dental bridge involves several steps, including:

  • Removing any decay

  • Shaping the teeth that will support the bridge

  • Taking an impression of your teeth

  • Using the impression to create a model of your mouth

  • Using the model to create a bridge that precisely fits your teeth

  • Placing a temporary bridge to protect your teeth

  • Removing the temporary bridge and inserting the permanent bridge

The average dental bridge lasts between five to seven years or more.
